Po poklicu sem diplomirani organizator poslovanja v hotelirstvu in turizmu. Po končanem študiju na Visoki šoli za hotelirstvo in turizem Bled sem tri leta delal kot receptor v Hotelu Jezero na Bledu, kjer sem pred tem opravljal praktično izobraževanje.

V reviji Zaposlitev sem dne 27. 5. 2020 prebrala vaš oglas za delovno mesto menedžerja v hotelu Drava.
Po poklicu sem diplomirana organizatorka poslovanja v gostinstvu in turizmu. Po končani Srednji šoli za gostinstvo in turizem Maribor, kjer sem zaključila program gastronomija in turizem, sem nadaljevala študij na Višji strokovni šoli za gostinstvo in turizem Maribor.
Po končanem študiju sem tri leta delala kot receptorka v hotelu Stadion, nato sem dobila ponudbo za delo v hotelu Center, kjer so mi omogočili možnosti napredovanja. Dve leti sem še opravljala delo receptorja, kasneje pa sem opravila nacionalno poklicno kvalifikacijo na področju managerstva hotelov, saj sem si želela večje odgovornosti v tej stroki. Na podlagi nacionalne poklicne kvalifikacije sem imela omogočeno napredovanje v vodjo recepcije. To delo sem opravljala skoraj dve leti, tako da sem spoznala celoten sektor. Kasneje so mi omogočili napredovanje v vodjo marketinga, kjer sem delo opravljala tri leta, in nato v operativnega vodjo hotela (managerja), kjer opravljam delo že četrto leto. Zaradi postopnih napredovanj sem pridobila znanja na vseh področjih in točno vem, kaj lahko od posameznika na delovnem mestu pričakujem in kakšne so njegove delovne naloge. Zato tudi vem, kako poteka delovni dan zaposlenega in koliko manevrskega prostora še ima za napredovanje in dodajanje novih nalog.
V vašem oglasu vidim veliko priložnost za nadaljnji razvoj, zato bi se želela v tej stroki preizkusiti tudi pri vas, saj to delo opravljam z užitkom. Razgovor za zaposlitev v hotelu/Hotel job interview

1. Povejte mi kaj o sebi.
Moje ime je Nik, star sem 27 let in sem rojen v Kopru. Srednjo šolo sem obiskoval v Izoli, smer gastronomske in hotelske storitve. Kasneje sem se odločil za študij na Bledu, na Visoki šoli za hotelirstvo in turizem Bled. V hotelirstvu imam že izkušnje, in sicer najprej v hotelu Jezero na Bledu, kasneje pa tudi v hotelu Emona v Ljubljani. Rad nadgrajujem svoje znanje in doživljam nove izkušnje. Sem natančen, komunikativen in hitro učljiv, do dela vedno pokažem veliko zanimanja, rad sem tudi kreativen.
2. Zakaj ste zainteresirani za to delovno mesto?
Že od konca šole me je zanimalo delo v hotelu, tako da sem bil resnično zainteresiran, ko sem videl to prosto delovno mesto. Kot ste razbrali iz mojega življenjepisa, sem opravljal druge vrste zaposlitev na recepciji v podjetjih in verjamem, da imam potrebne izkušnje in veščine, da se lahko potegujem za to delovno mesto.
3. Zakaj menite, da ste vi pravi za to delovno mesto?
V vašem oglasu sem se takoj našel v vseh kriterijih, ki jih pričakujete od zaposlenega. V tem poklicu imam že kar nekaj izkušenj, tudi iz hotelov, kjer je bilo vedno polno strank. Ko je zasedenost visoka, mi to daje še večji zagon. Izkušnje imam iz različnih turističnih destinacij in različnega okolja, zato menim, da bi se pri vas odlično znašel in marsikaj tudi prispeval. Tudi sam bi rad spet preizkusil delo v drugem okolju in se naučil še kaj novega. Menim, da s svojimi razgibanimi izkušnjami in ostalimi vrlinami lahko veliko prispevam k hotelu, zato sem oseba, ki jo iščete.
4. Kakšne so po vašem mnenju naloge in odgovornosti pri tem delu?
Kot receptor v hotelu pričakujem, da bodo naloge vključevale: pomoč gostom pri prijavi in odjavi, odgovarjal bom na telefonske klice in pomagal gostom pri kakršnih koli poizvedbah ali težavah. Ker je recepcija prva točka komunikacije za vse, ki obiščejo hotel, se morajo receptorji ves čas truditi po svojih najboljših močeh.
5. Imate kakšne izkušnje z delom v hotelu?
Da, najprej v hotelu Jezero na Bledu, kasneje pa tudi v hotelu Emona v Ljubljani. Oba hotela sta bila polno zasedena in ker imata oba štiri zvezdice, smo morali biti strokovno oblečeni in ves čas zagotavljati kakovostno storitev. Verjamem, da sem iz teh izkušenj navajen delati na recepciji v podjetju in s strankami. Ker sem navajen ukvarjanja z nezadovoljnimi strankami, vem, kako ostati profesionalen in pomagati odpraviti težavo stranke.
6. Zakaj želite delati v tem hotelu?
Ker je Hotel Drava priznana firma, sem se resnično želel prijaviti na to prosto delovno mesto. Že nekajkrat sem bival v Hotelu Drava in vedno sem užival v svojem bivanju. Cenim visokokakovostno storitev, ki jo ponuja.
7. Kaj bi nam lahko ponudili, če bi dobili to službo?
Kot sem že omenil, imam veliko izkušenj v tem poklicu. Oba hotela, v katerih sem bil zaposlen, sta na zelo obiskanih turističnih lokacijah, zato smo vedno imeli veliko gostov oz. hotel je bil polno zaseden. Zaradi tega se zelo dobro znajdem z gosti in odlično urejam pritožbe oziroma nezadovoljstvo strank. Navajen sem delati v ekipi z ostalimi zaposlenimi, sem zelo natančen, zanesljiv, komunikativen, zelo hitro se učim in sprejemam nove pristope, sem zelo zagnan ter kreativen.
8. Opišite dogodek, ko ste imeli opravka z nezadovoljno stranko.
Ko sem pomagal v restavraciji, stranka enkrat ni bila zadovoljna z zrezkom, ki ga je naročila. Ni bila zadovoljna, kako je bil zapečen, in ko me je poklicala, se je obnašala, kot da sem jaz kriv za to. Ostal sem miren in poslušal, kar mi je želela povedati, nato sem ji ponudil nekaj rešitev. Lahko bi zrezek odnesel nazaj v kuhinjo ali stranki ponudil alternativni obrok. Stranka je prosila, naj zrezek vzamem nazaj, jaz pa sem kuharja prosil, naj speče še en zrezek po željah gosta. Stranka je dejala, da je zadovoljna in da ceni, da sem se dodatno potrudil.
9. Povejte mi kakšno vašo slabost.
Zelo sem natančen, lahko bi rekli perfekcionist. Zaradi tega nikoli ne odneham, dokler delo ni opravljeno popolno. Zaradi tega tudi marsikdaj doma razmišljam in načrtujem, kako bi lahko kaj opravil, izboljšal ali ponudil strankam, da bi bile čim bolj zadovoljne. Torej tudi veliko zasebnega življenja in prostega časa namenim službi.
10. Ste že obiskali spletno mesto našega hotela? Kaj menite?
Zelo mi je všeč, kako je hotel predstavljen, razpoložljivi videoposnetki so odlične prodajne poteze in pogosta vprašanja vsebujejo veliko informacij. Edina sprememba, ki bi jo predlagal, je obrazec za rezervacijo. Izgleda nekoliko zastarelo in je zelo dolg.
11. Kakšno je vaše mnenje o nadurah in nočni izmeni? Imate otroke ali jih načrtujete?
Nadure in nočna izmena mi niso problem. Če je treba, jih brez težav opravim, nočno izmeno pa sem že pričakoval takoj, ko sem zagledal vaš oglas. Otrok še nimam, v prihodnosti bi jih želel imeti, vendar tega še nekaj let ne načrtujem. Trenutno nimam partnerke in se bolj posvečam razvoju kariere.
12. Kaj za vas pomeni odlična storitev gostu?
Zame odlična storitev gostu pomeni, da gostom pokažete, da ste vedno na voljo za pomoč pri kakršnih koli težavah in da ljudi pozdravite z nasmehom. Gre za to, da vložite dodatni trud za goste.
13. Kje se vidite čez pet let?
Zanima me razvoj kariere v hotelirstvu. Nekega dne bi rad delal v različnih hotelih po vsem svetu in si tako pridobil izkušnje tudi v različnih državah.
14. Imate tudi vi kakšno vprašanje?
Da, kot sem omenil, zelo rad nadgrajujem svoje znanje. Zato me tudi zanima, ali ponujate kakšna izobraževanja za zaposlene. Zanima me tudi, kakšne so možnosti za napredovanje.

As a hotel receptionist, I expect the job responsibilities to include: helping guests check in and check out, answering phone calls and helping guests with any queries or problems. Yes, my first job was at the Hotel Jezero in Bled and later I worked at the Hotel Emona in Ljubljana. Based on this experience, I believe I am accustomed to working at the reception and working with customers. As I am used to dealing with unhappy customers, I know how to stay professional and help fix a customer's problem.

As the Drava Hotel is a renowned brand, I was really interested in applying for the vacancy. I have stayed at the Drava Hotel a few times and I've always enjoyed my stay. I appreciate the high quality service it offers.
7. What could you offer us if you got this job?
As I mentioned, I have a lot of experience in this profession. Given that both hotels where I was employed were located in very popular tourist locations, we always had a lot of customers; that is to say that the hotel was fully occupied. 8. Describe a time you had to deal with an unhappy customer.
When I used to help in a hotel restaurant, there was a time when a customer was unhappy with the steak he had ordered. He was unhappy with how it had been cooked and when he called me over, he acted like it was my fault. I remained calm and listened to what he had to say, then I offered him some solutions. I could take it back to the kitchen or give him an alternative meal. He asked for me to take it back and I did. I asked the chef to cook another steak to the customer's specifications and brought it out. The customer said he was happy with the changes and appreciated I had gone the extra mile.
9. Tell me what your weakness is.
I am very precise; you could say I am a perfectionist. Because of this, I never give up until the job is completely done. At home, I also often think and plan how I could do something, improve something or offer to customers to be as satisfied as possible. So I also dedicate a lot of my private life and free time to work.

I really like how the hotel is presented on the website, the videos available are great selling features and the FAQs have plenty of information. The only thing I would suggest changing is the booking form. It looks a bit old and it's very long.

Doing overtime and night shifts are not a problem for me. If necessary, I can do them without any problems, and I was already expecting night shifts as soon as I saw your ad. I don't have any children yet. I would like to have them in the future, but I am not planning to have them in the next few years. I don’t have a partner at the moment and for now I focus more on career development.

To me, excellent guest service means showing guests that you're always available to help with any problems and you greet people with a smile. It's all about going the extra mile for guests.

I'm interested in developing a career in hotel management. One day, I would like to work in different hotels around the world to gain experience in different countries too.
